Mark Camillin won a competition to masterplan this student village for The University of the West of England. 2000 new student residences are currently under construction on the outskirts of Bristol with a new sports facility and associated landscaping. Phase 2 of the development includes a Centre for the Performing Arts and Post Graduate student accommodation. Baroness Butler Sloss opened the New Centre for Sports and Student Village at the University of the West of England on 9 October 2006. The Vice-Chancellor in his opening speech said: 'we would like to thank Mark Camillin the original Architect for the project, for designing such an exciting and interesting environment for our students.'
